Went to the bottle shop for one bottle to go with dinner last night.Came back with six bottles and no dinner was ever cooked…
Both are opened and gone halfway…that was the end of last night.
Good thing I’m working shifts, starting at 6pm..in about 40min. So off I go to make some more money..as I got paid yesterday and went to the bottle shop almost directly. Hmm am I becoming an Aussie?
Plans change. Instead of taking the train to Perth I stayed in Melbourne for a few more days and flew to Perth on Friday. I’ve now been here bit more than one week. The flight took 4.5h and it is still a national flight…though an interstate flight.
This was my very first time I saw shark signs.. apparently there was a shark seen the week before I came to Scarborough Beach. There were helicopters flying back and forth as well.
Scarborough is also my new home for the moment. Another first thing was that I couchsurfed alone. My previous time in Sydney I arrived with Mad. This time I arrived alone. The good thing was that there were other people surfing there already. One German girl and an Aussie. The last one is gone. German and Sweden still around.
Our host took us to see kangaroos, mostly for German. But I got to see some albino roos which I hadn’t seen before. Here we are:
Sweden, wombat, German and host
If you look close in both the pouches you will see baby roos
So time for job hunting. Interesting thing to look for a job. I have no idea how many applications I sent online. The only two replies I got was thank you we’ll get back to you and all spots are already filled and they put my resume on a pile…
I wanted to apply to a place a already know much about. Can you have a guess where I went?
I also went down in Scarborough to leave my resume to places along the beach. Two called me back. I have one job now and already worked two days but it’s just to have something to do. If I like it I’ll continue bit at the moment it is not ideal. It is a food court together with a café. The owner is Greek and that is actually why I don’t want to stay and get too involved. Let’s just say they are a bit special.
So I also found the est of the Greeks. Not many in Perth but they stick together. I think they are less then 20 000 but almost.
And about Scarborough, it is very pretty here and right by the beach. We have between 25-30 degrees and lots of wind.
Haven’t worked anything this weekend. Did go to the beach all day yesterday. Also met a god friend I met in Airlie Beach. Great to catch up with people I have met before.
It is crazy that i went from spring to Christmas decoration but I guess Christmas is coming.
One spare ticket for who? For me! I got to see the Black Keys and i only knew 2 songs from them before…but as you know I suck at names…so I had no idea who they were talking about.
Listen to this while you read the rest
First we went to a pub with the famous naked Cleo. She has been here for a long time. When some men around their 50’s today were young they sneaked in to have a peek of the nude female body. It is beautiful.
At the concert
A French café with it’s beautiful Christmas decorations! Adorable!
Wine tasting at some wineries around in Mornington Peninsula and a great lunch.
Cabmerloh! and Roseh!
Do you see the big ring around the sun? I’ve seen it around the moon in Sweden and it is something about it but as usual I don’t really know what happens but it’s cool and nice!
So came the my last night with F as he was leaving to Italy. A bit sad it all was. The next day I walked him to the train and it was a little wet goodbye… You do get very close to someone who you spend every single minute with during 2.5 months.
Last day in Melbourne I made myself an Italian coffee in a cafetiera and together with a Tim Tam I had a Tim Tam Slam! Yum!
Plans change we are now all aware of that, constantly. So never try to plan to much when you are on the road. For me that means all this year. You will see what I mean later on.
Thanks to Facebook I saw an update from the couple from Chile that i meat in Brizzy. So we met and went for dinner to the Lentel. This is all vegan food and you pay as much as you feel like it is worth. It was a great atmosphere there and a very nice place.
One of us did not love the food…haha. Guess who
Staying with Mad I felt like home. Not only because all the Swedish little hints but because she is a great person who I needed this time more than I knew. I didn’t know what was coming. Had plenty of tea at M’s and i think I found another universe..
One day I took the bike and went for a ride around Elwood, Elsternwick and Brighton.
This reminds me of Notting Hill in London, yes only 8 little houses or buildings but a mini version.
In Brighton you can find the famous Beach Boxes. You can by one of these little wooden houses if you have about $25 000!
Popular place to come to. I wrote some more postcards, had a snack and waited for the sunset.
Sometimes in multiple languages, sometimes hand written, some are hilarious, sometimes just unnecessary..or Oz is simply prepared for even the dumbest tourist…
Hmm so what am I allowed to fish around here?
This one is probably for Germans
How are Cage Eggs happier? Caaaage… No still don’t smile when I say it
This one is probably just confusing if you can’t read… Are there many Swedes around here? Otherwise it is a nice map of the inner city
This one is for the lazy ones
You want a too expensive boat?
And then there are a few warnings.. or do’s and don’ts
There was no similar for the blokes…
But this one was inside the men’s..
Signs and notes popping up anywhere
And the pubs… You’ve seen the yawn jar and the tit jar
How do you play cricket?
Internet in the outback
Why not number plates?
I mean this is a bloody copper…
I guess this is part of the reason you can’t get bored when you are travelling in Oz!
Some people just like sharing what they’ve read!
More to come..
