Swan Valley – 4 Jan
Finally we found a day together with our housemates to go and do something together. We went wine and beer tasting in Swan Valley. The kids sat in the back
Finished off with some nice pork belly! Yum yum!
Rottnest Island / 8-9 Jan
On the morning ferry to get to Rotto you see the skyline of Perth.
Tada, back in a tent! Love it!
The best thing I’ve ever bought! I sleep like a princess on it!
The view from Rotto, you can actually still see Perth in the other side. The ferry took 1 hour only.
We rented bikes and snorkel equipment and off we went for a ride around the island.
The beaches here were actually calm. Nothing even near any of the crazy ways in Scarborough! Nice change for a while. But to be honest I quite enjoy the waves.
Went up to the lighthouse and a nice man gave us a little tour.
There it is, my first snake I’ve seen in Oz! Ok technically it is my 2nd as the first one was quick to take off…and the one on the photo is very much dead. But it is the same kind. At the next stop I read the following, read only the very last paragraph…
Highly venomous! Well thank you for telling me at very other end of the island and not when I just arrive!
The other little thing that lives there was a lizard (can also be read about above)
And the Quokkas. Almost only found on Rotto. Small funny little creatures found exactly everywhere!
The first picture below is taken at the very west end of Rotto. Next stop on mainland? Africa!
Rotto has many salt lakes. Durinf the WWll Western Australia got their salt mainly from Rottnest.
These were some neighbours…eeeeverybody rented bikes. Nice atmosphere when you and everyone around you is on two silent wheels.
One night was not really enough but we both worked the next day so time for take off.
Let’s try to see some of Perth as well. As I’ve been working so much I haven’t had the chance to explore Perth much.
The Bell Tower
The council house by night (not my photos as i forgot to take a picture of it…but these and more can be found online)
