I was very happy to have a part of my family to come to visit me.
So I’d asked my dear sister before she arrived what she would like to do during her visit. This was her answer:
Shopping, Chateau and Cheese!
Pretty simple to make that happen in this country! 😀
So we went to visit Château de la Rochepot.
This was for me the first castle I visited the interior.
This is inner garden of the castle.
Here is the tower we entered and looked at three bedrooms. The small one has the staircase and the big one has the bedrooms.
We took the staircase all the way up and that was it..nothing there really 😛
There she is, my beautiful sis’! ❤
Here is a view of the village Rochepot.
This is a well which is dug by hand and it is marvelously 72m deep!! It took one year to dig it and they used only hammers and chisels, the year was 1228. Incredible huh?
And the last picture of this castle comes from the huge kitchen. Even today having a size of a kitchen this big is simply big! Imagine then hundred years ago. On the stove the big copper boiler is actually a laundry boiler. This kitchen was in use until World War II.
We were definitely pleased with our visit. Now it was time to drive to Chalon for some supermarket shopping wine and cheese 🙂
This day was a holiday so nothing was open but the supermarkets and castles. Meanwhile when we were shopping around in the supermarket G was attending a cycle race. For the first time I was not there and he won the race! Here’s a pic from a journalist 🙂
We finished up by having dinner in a restaurant in Chalon with a bunch of friends.
