Last days in Melbourne 3-19 Mar

Flew back to Melbourne after two weeks in Tas.
I know I’ve said it before but I just love Melbourne. It’s just such a great city on so many levels!
For all us ice cream lovers out there. How about serving yourself like this?

Isn’t it hilarious how you bump in to people you know in a big city where you don’t know anyone? Well Maria (from Tas roadtrip) bumped in to me and D on our way to Victoria Market.

Victoria Market is the biggest market in Melbourne and is on almost every day. When it’s not on, there is the night market with live music.
Since I knew Sweden is still snowy I was looking at some woolen hats and after a little bit of bargaining these two are mine

Our feet hurt after walking hours in the market so we went to a park. Tried to juggle, but me and Maria sucked… We got better after several trials but we still can’t juggle :p who cares? We had fun!

Met up L again. All of a sudden we were shopping! Crazy! Bought two dresses! Woohoo! Ended zi evening with a suitable German beer mit zi German

Had a last coffee with L before she left the country. Check out the fancy street sign on the opposite lane 🙂

The shopping urge had apparently just awaken in me again, after a years rest. So here I go again! My new precious ones!

Aah, Melbourne offered me a free ice cream while hanging out on Fed Square this eve! Heaven!

Most of my old and new friends had now left Melbourne or/and Oz. At M&M’s place Maurice bought a record player and we all had a nice day listening to good oldies enjoyed with a beer

Monday, 18th March, M&M took me out for Mexican food in Brighton. It was my last night.19th of March was my last day in Oz. In the morning I visited Williamstown again, where I first started my trip. Before returning home I jumped off at Flinders and just stood by the steps of the entrance of the station and stared at Melbourne, the city that has a big place in my heart.
Me and M went for an evening walk to the beach, had a hot chocolate and then came the drive to the airport.
I wasn’t sad. I’ve had one tremendous year. An amazing adventure I will never forget. The amount of new friends I’ve made and people just passing by, leaving a footprint in my journey and making it happen, I feel lucky and rich having all these memories today and forever, if I don’t get amnesia…
Of course I will be back!

24 hours later…
When I landed in Copenhagen, I had a mild shock. My eyes were used watching a blue sky..but I landed in this

I’m back. Back in Sweden. The country which seems raped by the winter, lucky I have my bright hat!

Free concert! and last days in Melbourne

One spare ticket for who? For me! I got to see the Black Keys and i only knew 2 songs from them before…but as you know I suck at names…so I had no idea who they were talking about.
Listen to this while you read the rest

Lonely Boy – album El Camino is awesome!

First we went to a pub with the famous naked Cleo. She has been here for a long time. When some men around their 50’s today were young they sneaked in to have a peek of the nude female body. It is beautiful.

Do you see the big ring around the sun? I’ve seen it around the moon in Sweden and it is something about it but as usual I don’t really know what happens but it’s cool and nice!

So came the my last night with F as he was leaving to Italy. A bit sad it all was. The next day I walked him to the train and it was a little wet goodbye… You do get very close to someone who you spend every single minute with during 2.5 months.

Last day in Melbourne I made myself an Italian coffee in a cafetiera and together with a Tim Tam I had a Tim Tam Slam! Yum!

Melbourne

Plans change we are now all aware of that, constantly. So never try to plan to much when you are on the road. For me that means all this year. You will see what I mean later on.

Thanks to Facebook I saw an update from the couple from Chile that i meat in Brizzy. So we met and went for dinner to the Lentel. This is all vegan food and you pay as much as you feel like it is worth. It was a great atmosphere there and a very nice place.

image

One of us did not love the food…haha. Guess who

image

Staying with Mad I felt like home. Not only because all the Swedish little hints but because she is a great person who I needed this time more than I knew. I didn’t know what was coming. Had plenty of tea at M’s and i think I found another universe..

One day I took the bike and went for a ride around Elwood, Elsternwick and Brighton.

image

This reminds me of Notting Hill in London, yes only 8 little houses or buildings but a mini version.

image

In Brighton you can find the famous Beach Boxes. You can by one of these little wooden houses if you have about $25 000!

Melbourne and 4 seasons in one day

It is try and fascinating about this city. You know all those strange clothes you don’t really know how or when to wear? Like a turtle neck without sleeves or well ya you know. Melbourne is perfect haha.

So the other day I was wearing woollies during the day and the evening I still needed heat

image

And yesterday was a lovely day. Spring is coming and who doesn’t love that? I found a sweet little dress which is perfect for todays sun!

image

Have a great day everyone! Kalhmera se olous!

Let’s start with a Coin laundry

This is my first time doing my laundry just like the movies. No, I did not hook up with any hunk. This time 😉

image

Two days ago I called my 86 year old grandmother. She is so cute and somehow by just hearing her voice it filled me with energy. I’m glad there still are normal phones!

And yesterday dad called and updated me that my niece’s first tooth is loose!! Already, and keeps growing!

Mog’s Creek last weekend was amasing. It is a spectacular old house with a nice old fire place. Located on the Great Ocean Road.

image

When I first entered the living room upstairs a smell hit me in the face. It was a familiar smell which I recognized immediately. Though it was probably 8 or more years ago last time. It smells just like my grandparents house in Greece. Both of them have passed away and nobody lives in the house today as it’s old and made of mud. Obviously my eyes started to tear up but they were dry pretty quick aswell.

image

We went to Lorne which is the next village along the way and visited a beautiful waterfall which looked like it was in a fairy tale with so much green surroundings.

image

image

image

And I need to show you the pink birds! After I spotted the first one I keep seeing them in groups of 4-5. So I guess they are also common around here then.

image

We enjoyed it and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. I hope you enjoy me sharing some of the views around here.

image

There are people surfing all over! Though here you might see one.

image

Just a small lake.

image

And we had Japanese that day

image

Tomorrow it’s mother’s day here and it is huge! Sending all my love to my precious mum!

Pub night!

ImageImageImageImageWow…L knows what I’m saying when I say I’m listening to Heartless while uploading pics. We’ve been to Elsternwick and Elwood. Met wonderful people and won chocolate at a pool game and became chocalate fairys at the train home!

Well this is part of life – sorry mum! Filia!
